Techland has finally locked down the exact release dates for Dying Light, its upcoming open world zombie affair with an emphasis on challenge and parkour. Even further, it announced that a piece of the multiplayer DLC will be made free for everyone.
First off, the release dates. Dying Light will hit the PC worldwide on Jan. 27, 2015. That’s a digital release. North and South America will see the digital and physical releases of Dying Light for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on that same date.
Things get a bit more complicated for other regions, so here’s the exact rub from Techland:
In Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia, Dying Light will have a digital release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One of January 28, 2015. Physical copies of the game will be released in these territories on February 27, 2015.
So, that’s a delay for regions beyond North and South America for physical PC copies and copies of the game on the PS4 and Xbox One.
Now, back to the good news. Dying Light will now offer a free bit of DLC. Players will be able to enjoy a multiplayer mode that lets them take control of a Night Hunter zombie in order to invade other player’s games. That “Be the Zombie” mode has been made free for all platforms.
Pretty sweet deal.
