Nintendo of Japan has released a brief video featuring The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D as played by series Producer Eiji Aonuma.
Over the span of roughly five minutes of playing time, Aonuma uses his New Nintendo 3DS (note the large version) to play through a tiny bit of Majora’s Mask 3D. As this clip comes from Nintendo of Japan and Aonuma himself is a Japanese employee of the company, the clip is entirely in Japanese.
Still, Zelda fans should feel right at home with the content provided regardless of the language barrier they’ll run into.
Now, the core content in the demo is a single mini game from Clock Town in Majora’s Mask. This is the one where link tries to shoot as many octoroks as he can during a given time limit. The demo really shows off the motion control element used for shooting in the first-person perspective.
We had the same tilt and turn controls for shooting in Ocarina of Time 3D, and I must say that, in spite of typically hating the motion stuff on portables, this is one feature that I actually liked. I found myself firing with more precision when moving about rather than sliding the circle pad. I’m happy to see this return in Majora’s Mask 3D.
This highly anticipated port of a Zelda cult-classic will hit the Nintendo 3DS on Feb. 13. We’ll have more on the game as it comes.
