Grim Fandango Remastered Pre-Orders Now Live for $15

Tim Schafer and Double Fine Productions have finally set a very reasonable price on their masterpiece graphic adventure, Grim Fandango Remastered. Starting today, every version of the game can be picked up for just $14.99, and that is a price I would pay just to listen to protagonist Manny Calavera’s voice as I doze off to sleep at night.

For one of the best adventure games of all time, trust me, $15 is a steal for the brilliant writing and wonderful atmosphere you can find in this cult gem. Just be wary that some of the puzzles are among the most obtuse the genre has ever seen.

The PC, Mac and Linux version purchased through GOG are DRM-Free, as per GOG’s policy, and those who pre-order through PlayStation can get an exclusive “sweeeeet new dynamic theme.”

Grim Fandango Remastered is a revamped version of the original LucasArts hit from 1998. This new version sports better graphics, a re-orchestrated soundtrack, developer commentary, and does away with the awful tank-controls you would normally find in a game like Resident Evil. It tells the story of Manny Calavera, a death agent who searches for love in the afterlife after moving on from his desk job as a “grim reaper.”

The full version of the game will be released for the PlayStation 4, PS Vita, PC, Mac and Linux on Jan. 27.
