The annual video game speed-running event Awesome Games Done Quick ended this weekend well past its original goal.
Over the course of 160 live speed runs broadcast over Twitch, the event pulled in $1,555,428.61 from 29,630 donors at the time of this writing, including a donation from Humble Bundle of $200,556.24 and $40,000 from a couple anonymous donors. The AGDQ donation tracker has additional details.
The event showed a huge variety of games across just about every platform including games like Super Mario World, Blaster Master, Silent Hill and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind to name just a few of the 160 sessions. The highlight, though, was the second to last exhibition where Youtuber Runnerguy2849 completed the first three dungeons of The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time entirely blindfolded.
The AGDQ team will have videos of all the speedruns online eventually but in the meantime a Youtube user has posted a copy of the blindfolded run.
