This is HTC’s Lollipop Update Running on the One M7

HTC One Review - Hardware - Front - Screen

HTC’s Lollipop updates for its flagship One series are right around the corner, with the Taiwanese company promising releases within 90 days of the software’s launch. If you’re wondering what it’s going to look like on your One M7 with Sense 6, check out the video below.

Uploaded to YouTube by user Ray Chan, the rather short but exciting clip gives us a sneak peek at Lollipop running on 2013’s One M7 for the first time. The software is complete with HTC’s own Sense 6 user interface, so we know this is a genuine ROM.

We don’t get to see a lot, unfortunately, but Chan does demonstrate some of Lollipop’s best changes and improvements — including its new multitasking layout, notification drawer, and quick settings menu. Material Design also shines through in places, but Sense 6 for Lollipop looks almost exactly the same as Sense 6 for KitKat.

Chan doesn’t tell us how he obtained this software ahead of its public release — or when it might be available — but it appears to be relatively close to final, so it could well be making an appearance sometime soon.

A recent tweet from @LlabTooFer, an extremely reliable source of HTC news and leaks, claimed Lollipop for last year’s One M8 is just “1-2 weeks” away. We expect the One M7’s upgrade to be available around the same time, or very soon after.
