Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance has a brand new trailer straight from NipponIchi as it continues to barrage us with information on its most popular franchise. Disgaea’s break into the next generation is a massive game with potentially hundreds of units taking part in a single battle, and the latest trailer explains how many of the mechanics work… in Japanese, of course.
Not to worry. Disgaea 5 has been confirmed for an English release, and you’ll be ale to wrap your brains around all it has to offer in due time. The opening cutscene is excellent at least, so you can enjoy that.
Gematsu provides a decent gist at least of how the game revolves around the idea of squads. Certain units will be placed into different squads that can give them benefits in battles. For example, a “Rookie Squad” will have new units which gain extra experience when their leader is successful in battle, and members of a”Foot Soldier Squad” will gain stats if there are more soldiers taking part within its group.
Squads can also capture enemy units and can perform huge Squad attacks with the correct requirements met.
Along with the trailer, NipponIchi has also provided a healthy dose of new character art from the different “friends” and enemies you will meet on your quest. If you think about it though, there really is no difference between the two in the Netherworld, is there?
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance will be released in America in the fall of 2015 for the PlayStation 4.
