Sony Releases Teaser for Razor-Thin Device Ahead of CES 2015

We’re a few weeks out from CES 2015, and Sony is already teasing some big announcements. The short video below is heavy with hints; a Lollipop shows up at one point, while a hand is shown gently sliding over an extremely thin surface—a phone maybe, or perhaps a tablet (or TV?). The frenetic cuts then show a woman in an elevator (the number five is lit up), while other clues point to vibrant colors, sharp screens and… babies?

All the imagery points to a new mobile device, which means we might see Sony’s new lineup in just a few weeks. The video ends with the words “Welcome to the New World.” New World of what? We’ll find out pretty soon here, but it will most definitely involve Lollipop. Hopefully when Sony does talk about Google’s new software, the company will tell users when to expect the update to roll out.

We’ll be on the ground at CES when the show kicks off on Jan. 6. Sony has always made a good impression at this event, so we’re excited to see what the company has in store. The cryptic video doesn’t reveal much, but that’s the point—we see just enough to pique interest, though everything is still one big mystery. I’m guessing we’ll hear more about what Sony has planned before the actual event, so stay tuned.
