Duck Hunt on Wii U

Finally! I can relive my glory days as a young gamer spending hours and hours in front of the TV, angry at that chuckling dog as I miss duck after duck after duck. Nintendo has announced the release date for their Virtual Console version of Duck Hunt.

Starting Dec. 25th, gamers can buy Duck Hunt through the eShop on their Wii Us for $4.99. The game will require a Wii Remote in place of the old school zapper we all loved so much. The click it made was my favorite bit. I know, I’m weird.

This is the classic Duck Hunt from way back when, so it comes with three modes of play: shooting one duck at a time, shooting two ducks at a time and shooting at UFOs. Or clay pigeons. Whatever.

I guess the only thing that bothers me about this one is that I won’t be able to cheat by putting my Wii Remote against the screen in order to more accurately shoot ducks. That was a light gun “feature,” and it certainly won’t work here.

Yep, I’m picking Duck Hunt up for sure. How about you?
