Jawbone has officially delayed the launch of its new fitness tracker, the Jawbone UP3, and confirmed that it will not be available for purchase in time for the holidays.

The company’s fitness software is among the best on the market, and its new Jawbone UP3 promised some compelling features. It’s the first wearable from the company that’s equipped with a built-in Heart Health sensor, and it also offers a first-class design that features anodized aluminum, stainless steel and more. While Jawbone originally began accepting orders for the UP3 in early November, it recently started to alert early buyers that the wearable will now launch in early 2015. One customer contacted Wareable and told the site that Jawbone is offering a $40 credit as a consolation for the delay.

Folks who are buying the Jawbone UP3 now can expect it within about 8-9 weeks, Jawbone told Wareable, though that’s just an estimate at this time. Jawbone still sells its older Jawbone UP24 model, which is widely available for $99, though it lacks some of the more advanced features and the heart rate monitor found in the new model.

Fortunately, if you’re not tied to that product, there are plenty of options available from competitors such as Misfit, Fitbit, Samsung and more, though the Jawbone UP3 may still be worth waiting for.
