Just when you thought Amazon’s delivery service couldn’t get any better, the retail giant today announced Prime Now, a one-hour delivery option for a wide range of “daily essentials.” Available in select areas of Manhattan initially, Prime Now brings your order to your door faster than ever before.

Prime Now covers the things you use everyday, such as shampoo, toilet paper, and batteries — as well as some other things, like books, toys, and even TVs. For $7.99, you’ll get your order delivered within an hour, while two-hour delivery is also available absolutely free of charge.

To make products that are eligible for Prime Now easier to find, Amazon is today launching dedicated Prime Now apps for Android and iOS.

Prime Now is available from 6 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week, and all deliveries will be handled by “a portion” of Amazon’s new Manhattan facility on 34th Street. Next year, Prime Now will be expanding to other cities, and if you have the Prime Now app, you’ll get an alert when it’s available in your area.

“We’ve long felt that Amazon Prime is the best deal in the history of shopping and now it has gotten even better,” said Dave Clark, Amazon’s senior vice president of worldwide operations. “Prime members in Manhattan are going to love this service and we cannot wait to roll out Prime Now to additional cities in 2015.”
