Netflix pushed out an update for its Android app this week that includes support Android Wear. The update includes other new features, including beefed up social recommendations and enhanced notifications.
Here’s how Netflix will work on your wrist: when a friend recommends a movie to you, it should pop up on your smartwatch in the form of a notification. From there, you’ll have a few options. You can thank them for the suggestion straight from your wrist, or hit the “play” button to launch the video on a connected device. Meanwhile, social notifications on your smartphone will offer even more information, including images of the suggested movie. That’s pretty much it, at least for now.
We’d love to see even more integration between Android devices and smartwatches—imagine being able to control your movie using a digital remote on your wrist. Hopefully that’s coming soon, but for now you can grab this update via the Google Play link below.
