When Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate releases for the Nintendo 3DS in the regions beyond Japan, it will arrive with a whole bevy of interesting costumes from the annals of gaming history. We already know about the Samus outfit, for instance.
This weekend, Capcom announced the presence of two special outfits from its own history. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate players will be able to use Blanka and Chun-Li from none other than Street Fighter II.
The video we have above shows off both outfits in action, complete with some nostalgic Street Fighter II sound effects, menu screens and UI elements. Man, it’s just dawning on me exactly how familiar I am with that particular character selection screen. I spent a lot of time on it when I was growing up.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate does not have an official release date beyond the early 2015 window yet. The game has been available in Japan in base form since September of 2013. The G (which is Ultimate to us) version released in Japan on October 11, 2014.
I have to admit, I wasn’t really a Monster Hunter fan until I picked it up on the Wii U a year or so ago. After playing it there, I’m officially excited to give it a portable go with this upcoming offering.
