Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Rolling Out to T-Mobile Nexus 5 and Nexus 6

Google Nexus 6-vs-Nexus 5-1

Android 5.0.1 Lollipop is already rolling out to plenty of Nexus smartphones and tablets, including Sprint’s Nexus 5 just yesterday, and T-Mobile also has an update on the software patch, too.

TmoNews noticed on Tuesday that T-Mobile recently started to advertise the software rollout for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 units that it sells. “Beginning December 15, the Google Nexus 5 received a mandatory software update to Android version 5.0.1 / LRX22C available via Over-the-Air (OTA) and pull down over Wi-Fi only,” the company’s support site details for one of the handsets. “This update will be available over cellular network at a later date and provides features and improvements,” T-Mobile said, noting that improvements include “software stability” tweaks. A similar update was also provided for the Nexus 6.

The rollout started officially hitting units just yesterday, so if you haven’t received it yet, be sure to navigate into settings while connected to a Wi-Fi network to automatically check for Android 5.0.1 Lollipop.
