Vodafone Brings Android 5.0 Lollipop to the LG G3 in Europe

LG-G3-T-Mobile-3

While LG began rolling out the G3’s Android 5.0 Lollipop update several weeks ago, it’s still yet to reach many markets. But the wait is finally over for users connected to Vodafone in a number of countries throughout Europe.

This release comes with the “LRX21R” build number and weighs in at 520MB. As you would expect from a Lollipop upgrade, the list of changes and improvements is huge, with lock screen notifications, Smart Lock, improved multitasking, and enhanced performance and battery life baked in.

G3 users can also look forward to Android’s attractive Material Design makeover. They won’t get it in its purest form, of course — thanks to LG’s own user interface — but it does shine through in places, and LG’s flat icon set and color scheme actually fits Lollipop pretty well.

Vodafone customers are the first to receive Lollipop for the G3 in the U.K., with even unlocked handsets still waiting for its rollout from LG. Android Geeks reports that the same update is also being seeded to Vodafone customers in Romania, so the carrier is obviously rolling it out to numerous markets at once.

If you have an LG G3 on Vodafone, then, you can expect to receive your Lollipop upgrade soon. You can check for it manually by opening up LG’s Update Center app, tapping “Software Update,” then choosing “Check now for update.”
