If you are like me and enjoyed The Evil Within, then you probably put down the controller scratching your head and started searching your brain for questions to ask rather than answers to questions you already had.

Bethesda has your back as you can now pay for those questions, and maybe you’ll even score the answers. A season pack of DLC with three chapters will spell out the mission of Det. Castellanos’ rookie partner Juli Kidman and her secret role behind the circumstances of this incident. The first chapter, The Assignment, will be released in 2015, and Tango Gameworks’ John Johanas explains it in an interview on Bethesda’s blog.

We approached the DLC from the perspective that, while Juli is enigmatic during the main game, there were additionally lots of other mysteries about the world and the characters that could be cleared up or hinted at by playing as her. She is a character who seems rather “aware” of her situation, after all.

Early on, we listed the things that we wanted to answer and ones we wanted to keep open and worked around that. We definitely leave some of the mysteries open, but I feel we shed a lot of light on the lore of Ruvik, STEM, and the characters while asking (and answering) a whole new set of questions regarding Juli and her mission.

He stated that the DLC will “give the player a new spin on gameplay, while still feeling connected to the main title” and favorably compared it to DLC like Enslaved: Pigsy’s Perfect 10 and Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare.

How about it? More of The Evil Within? I started playing the New Game+ immediately after beating the game for my review, so obviously I am not entirely finished with this game yet. Persona 4 eventually took over my life though, and I haven’t really gone back to it. I think my interest lies more in maxing out Castellanos’ stats and wrecking havoc on the game rather than unlocking new story elements .

I didn’t really mind the feeling of walking away confused from this game.

The Evil Within’s Season Pass will begin seeing releases in early 2o15 with The Assignment and The Consequence being the first scheduled.
