Motorola has begun sending out emails to DROID Turbo owners—those who are part of the Motorola Feedback Network, at least—alerting them that “an early preview of a new software release” is about to go out. The company notes that only a limited number of people can participate, but beyond that, not much information is revealed. It could be for Android 5.0 and VoLTE, as Droid-Life notes, though no release notes have been uncovered just yet. Motorola has been quick to release updates to its lineup of devices, so it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility.
If you own a DROID Turbo, be on the lookout for an update to roll out over the next couple of weeks. If it is indeed Lollipop, you’re definitely in for a treat (no pun intended). Check out our full Turbo review below. If you’re a Verizon user, it’s definitely one of the better phones available, and will only be better with Lollipop running the show. We’ll let you know as soon as Lollipop starts rolling out.
The criteria for what consumers want from a smartphone has never been simpler: display, camera, powerful guts and design. Every major flagship we’ve seen this year fits the bill to some degree. Somewhere along the line, however, in our pursuit for best and biggest, it’s become increasingly rare to see these monster phones rock multi-day battery life. There are two or three exceptions that might get through a heavy workday. But, by and large, you’ll be searching for an outlet sooner rather than later.
Motorola’s new DROID Turbo is here to change that.
