Do you love Apple, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube, Snapchat and promoting #brands? Then maybe you should consider a new social media job with Apple. The company is currently hiring for two positions, one to lead its own social media accounts and another to lead the efforts of its new brand, Beats.
Apple hasn’t typically relied much on social media to get its company message out there, though, as 9to5Mac notes, it has some accounts across networks for separate products. In fact, its Twitter account, @Apple, (which we assume it owns) hasn’t ever posted a tweet, though executives such as Tim Cook often take to the social network to post updates of their own.
That’s about to change, it seems, with a new open position for a head of social media and content. This person will lead “the vision and strategy of all social media channels,” according to a job description first spotted by 9to5Mac. The job calls for 7-10 years of experience preferably related to digital branding, and will be based out of Culver City, California, where Beats is located.
Apple is also seeking a director of social media for Beats by Dre, which it now owns, who will manage YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media accounts, while also analyzing performance across each social network. He or she will have 10+ years of experience, Apple says, and will also work closely with “media influencers, platform partners and key bloggers.” Again, this person will also be based in Culver City, so it seems likely he or she will work closely with the future head of social media.
