Suikoden

Ha! Suikoden finally gets a chance to outshine Final Fantasy. While the Square Enix fanbase continues to roll its eyes as the company’s epic trolling, people are genuinely excited and Twitter feeds are exploding over Suikoden II finally being released for the PlayStation Network.

Geez, you’d think this game was popular or cherished or something!

Yes, a full eight months after the ESRB leaked its incoming release, Konami has finally confirmed that the beloved cult-classic RPG hit will be coming to the PlayStation Network this week on Dec. 9th, and you’ll be able to play it on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. I never gave up hope once either, knowing that it was eventually going to come.

What took so long for this game to reach PlayStation Network. My guess is that Konami was unsure of how the fans would see it, so it was gauging the ESRB leak. When it saw the genuine excitement for the game, my guess is the publisher decided to hold it off for a huge event like PlayStation Experience or some such.

Either way, you know this is a day one purchase for me, and I suggest you make it the same. Experience this game’s unrivaled world building, character development, brilliant storyline of war and betrayal, and and enormous cast of over 100 characters! Thrown down the $5.99 you need for its predecessor today and play that to prep. Should only take about 12 hours, and it will help you appreciate its masterpiece sequel all the better.

Once again, Suikoden II is finally coming to PlayStation Network on Dec. 9th, this Tuesday. I know what I’m blasting through this winter vacation! What can we badger publishers for next I wonder!? Still waiting for my SaGa Frontier, Brave Fencer Musashi, and Azure Dreams!
