Wow, what a busy weekend on the PlayStation front. PlayStation Experience nailed it out of the park, setting up for a very exciting 2015. There will be more stories to come on Monday, but I just want to take a second to shine a light on one of the most important to me.
Persona 5 has been known to becoming to America for quite a while on the PlayStation 3, but it’s always been an issue of “when.” Atlus has just confirmed the PlayStation 3 version will also be joined by the PlayStation 4 version for an English release before the end of 2015.
You know what that means! More Japanese high school life, more friends to make, and more opportunity to find a balance between slaying demons and time managing the grind of everyday life. Plus, you get to listen to sweet Japanese tunes nonsensically rewritten into English. Sounds great, and I’m “going gorillas, bananas.”
Persona 5 is also dropping the “Shin Megami Tensei” portion of its title as Atlus sees that the sub-franchise is clearly popular enough to stand on its own. Heck, it’s even more popular than it’s parents series in most regards.
Once again, be sure to look out Persona 5 on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in 2015. I think I actually want to play this on the PS3, just to consolidate the franchise on a single console. We’ll see. I might also hold out for a Vita release as well because that was the best way to experience Persona 4.
