HTC RE Camera Price Slashed In Half for Black Friday

There’s a lot to like about HTC’s RE Camera; it’s easy to use, sports a unique design and produces some pretty solid clarity. About the only thing not to like is the price: at $199, HTC didn’t do itself any favors by pricing it above GoPro’s cheapest model—a popular action cam company HTC actively said it’s not competing against. But the comparisons are unavoidable, which means it was always going to be difficult for the Re Camera to gain a significant following.

Luckily, Black Friday sales will chop the price in half to just $99.

We’re actually big fans of HTC’s neat inhaler-looking camera. It might not become your go-to option for pictures, but for video, the convenience and spontaneity of it is definitely enticing for those who like to document absolutely everything. I’m looking forward to using it at this year’s CES. If you’ve been wanting to check the Re Camera out but were put off by the high asking price, you should definitely take advantage of HTC’s sale.

You’ll be able to pick up the Re Camera for $99 starting Thursday at 9 p.m. PST through HTC’s site, Best Buy, Verizon and AT&T. The promotion will run until Dec. 1 at 9 p.m. PST, or until supplies run out. It might not make a bad stocking stuffer this holiday season.
