Chromecast Adds New Channels for Kids and Adults

Roku may boast the most channels among its streaming competition, but Chromecast is catching up fast. Now, the Google-made HDMI stick is adding even more apps with a mix of child-friendly and adult options.

For kids, Chromecast now supports the Nickelodeon app and Sesame Street Go, which offers clips, full episodes, games and music. For everyone else, Google added the Comedy Central app along with two movie streaming services: EPIX and ENCORE Play. Finally, there’s TuneIn radio and Indian video service YuppTV.

That’s seven new apps in total coming to Chromecast. If you already own Google’s HDMI stick, you should be able to plug it in and start singing along with Elmo today. If not, there’s never been a better time to pick one up.
