The first flagship phones to ship with a Snapdragon 810 chip probably won’t arrive until 2015, but today Qualcomm is offering up two new devices to showcase its 64-bit octa-core processor. You can pick a Snapdragon 810 developer smartphone or tablet right now, though neither device comes cheap at $799 and $999, respectively,
Qualcomm’s new smartphone is an impressive device, packing a 6.17-inch Quad HD display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 3020mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0, a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS and a 4-megapixel front-facing shooter. Meanwhile, the company’s developer tablet offers a 10.1-inch 3840 × 2160-pixel display, a 7560mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and the same front and rear camera setup. Of course, both devices also pack a Snapdragon 810 processor and run the latest available version of Android.
You can order either device from Intrinsyc, though like we said they aren’t exactly budget-friendly. These new gadgets are really meant for developers looking to get a head start on the competition, and hopefully by next year we’ll start seeing similar specs show up in mainstream devices as well.
