NVIDIA on Monday announced savings on its two SHIELD products, including the SHIELD Tablet and the SHIELD Portable. Both will go on sale starting at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time on Friday, Nov. 28, and will be offered until 11:59 p.m. on that same day.
NVIDIA will offer the SHIELD Tablet with 32GB of storage and LTE and the SHIELD controller, in addition to its “Green Box bundle,” which includes Half Life:”2 Episode One, Half-Life 2, and Portal, for $399. That tablet typically retails for $299 and the SHIELD controller is usually priced at $59.99. Also keep in mind that the SHIELD Tablet now offers Android 5.0 Lollipop and NVIDIA’s brand new GRID gaming service, best thought of as a free Netflix for games, with 20 streaming PC titles. New titles are launching each week, too, and this week Psychonauts is landing on the platform.
The firm will also sell the SHIELD Portable, its handheld Android-powered gaming system that runs on its Tegra 4 chip, for $199. That’s the standard price, but NVIDIA’s Black Friday bundle also includes a free carrying case, typically priced at $39.99, and a glossy black armor accent accessory that is usually priced at $19.99.
We’re huge fans of the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet and if you’re at all in the market for an Android tablet this holiday season, and love to game, it’s a must-have.
