While speaking on a Square Enix Presents presentation about his upcoming game Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, seen above, Director Hajime Tabata also took the time to dive into his following project Final Fantasy XV and explain how much content will be in the highly anticipated demo.
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae, as the demo is called, will feature about one hour of story to enjoy, making the amount delivered in the free package more than any other demo in recent memory. However, those who want to do more than just the normal story will find another hour of content looking for and uncovering side-quests, bringing the average gamer up to two total hours.
He further claims that completionists who really look into the demos cracks might be able to wring three or even four hours out of it.
Sadly, the demo is not going to be a pack-in disc like Squaresoft used to do in the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 days. The demo will be distributed by codes, and Tabata also suggests that it will only be available for a short time. No length has been decided yet, so fans who get a hold of a copy should play it to their heart’s content before Square Enix fries it.
Shame this has to happen because some demos can still be fun even after the final game is released. I still breeze through the Bravely Default demo even well after beating the full game. So much fun.
The Final Fantasy XV demo can be obtained by purchasing a copy of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD on Mar. 17 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
