DROID Turbo in Blue Could Be the Best Looking Version Yet

by Jacob Kleinman | November 24, 2014November 24, 2014 9:00 pm PDT

The DROID Turbo is a strong contender for best smartphone of the year thanks to its powerhouse specs and rugged design. Now, there’s one more reason to pick up the Motorola-made smartphone: this sweet blue variant.

The blue DROID Turbo will be available from Best Buy, and it looks like this model uses the same awesome ballistic nylon material we got to try for our review. It’s really unlike any other smartphone design we’ve ever seen, and feels super-durable in your hand. Unfortunately, the Turbo is still a Verizon exclusive, so you may have to switch carriers to use it.

Here’s a quick refresher on what else the DROID Turbo has to offer: it packs a 5.2-inch Quad HD display and a massive 3900mAh battery with Quick Charge technology thanks to that Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. It also offers a 21-megapixel rear camera and a splash-proof design. The device ships running near-stock Android 4.4 KitKat, but Verizon promises that a Lollipop update is on the way.

The blue DROID Turbo is still listed as “coming soon,” and it’s set to cost the usual $199.99 on-contract. We’ll let you know when it finally launches.
