Pebble for Android Just Got Way Better

Pebble recently announced updates for Android, iOS and new firmware for the Pebble smartwatch. Google fans have the most to be excited about though, thanks to the addition of full notification support.

For anyone with an Android phone running Android 4.3 or up, you’ll be able to receive notifications on your Pebble for pretty much any app. Some notifications, like Hangouts and Facebook, come toggled on automatically. For everything else, head into the Pebble app on your device, and click All Apps. From there you can quickly Select All or pick one at a time to decide which types of notifications you want to see on your wrist.

The updated Android app (version 2.1.0) should improve stability and provide a smoother experience, too. The update is rolling out in phases, with about 10 percent of users getting early access via Google Play, so keep checking if you don’t see it right away.

Meanwhile, version 2.5.2 of the Pebble iOS app offers a few bug fixes, but no major changes. Pebble is also updating its firmware to support 80 new languages. To upgrade your firmware, just open the Pebble app on your iOS or Android device and tap “Support” > “Update Your Pebble” to jumpstart the process.
