Motorola was one of the first phone manufacturers to decide to release apps into the Google Play store individually so that it can update them more regularly. It’s a great plan that has been working so far, and now we’re seeing the latest fruits of those labors. The company recently updated its camera and gallery applications for the Moto X, DROID Turbo and Moto G.

The updates, first spotted by Phone Scoop, are relatively minor but bring both applications up to speed with a Material Design makeover for Android 5.0 Lollipop. The camera application also features a new timer mode and the option to twist your phone to launch the front-facing camera for a quick selfie. The gallery app simply received a Material Design makeover and some performance enhancements, according to the changelog.

You should spot the update on your phone now or, if you have automatic updates activated, you may already notice the changes.
