GTA Online Character Migrations Fixed for All Platforms

Grand Theft Auto V (46)

With the release of Grand Theft Auto V yesterday, something strange was going on with the character migration for the online side of the game.

Players were supposed to be able to bring their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 progress up a generation to whichever system they wanted. When the game released, though, an odd bug reared up that made it impossible for players to transfer their characters over if they hadn’t been online since 2013.

Sounds weird, but it affected me as well.

That’s all been fixed. Rockstar has updated its support page, and the character migration system is now working on all platforms as it should be. Good news, because I imagine by now a lot of folks are looking forward to jumping away from the campaign and into the multiplayer in order to take a little break.

Grand Theft Auto V is out now for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We’re playing through it for our review in a week or so. Stay tuned.
