GTA Online Transfers Broken for Players Who Haven’t Played Since 2013

Grand Theft Auto V (3)

If you’ve purchased Grand Theft Auto V for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and you haven’t played GTA Online since 2013, you’ll want to hold off on attempting to transfer your online character. There’s an odd bug that’s preventing transfers, a feature promised for launch with the game.

If you haven’t played GTA Online since 2013, when you try to transfer accounts, you’ll be met with a notification that says “No previous Grand theft Auto Online data is associated with your Social Club account.”

Rockstar is aware of the issue, and has responded to it on its official support page. Here’s what they offer.

We are looking into an issue preventing character transfer and GTA Online login on accounts that haven’t played GTA Online since 2013. If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and thanks for your patience.

If you want to subscribe to the support notice, head to that page either here or in the source link below.

Why does it seem like so many games are launching with bizarre issues this holiday?
