Hey, it’s not the 15 some odd GB update that Halo: The Master Chief Collection saw on day one, but Grand Theft Auto V for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 boasts a day one patch that might bother some players with tight bandwidth restrictions or limitations. The day one patch for GTA V checks in at 1.14GB.
Right, nothing crazy, but it is what it is.
The patch applies to GTA Online, and it’s required for multiplayer play. If you don’t head online (or you’d rather just enjoy the campaign first), you can start playing solo without downloading the patch. So, nice workaround there for those that might not care about the online play.
As far as patches go, 1.14GB isn’t too bad. Especially considering it’s for a game as massive as Grand Theft Auto V. I’ll be applying the patch today when I get my copy installed on my PlayStation 4, but, personally, I won’t touch the GTA Online component for a few days until I’ve explore Los Santos alone enough.
I don’t know what it is, I just really like playing single player for all its worth before I touch multiplayer. Am I alone on that one?
