The countdown for HTC’s Android 5.0 Lollipop roll-out has already started. Part of the HTC Advantage Program includes a promise to update the latest phones within 90 days of a software release to OEMs, and HTC received that code earlier this month. If you own a Google Play Edition device, however, you can expect Lollipop even sooner.
HTC’s vice president of product management, Mo Versi, recently confirmed on Twitter that the company is currently targeting to roll out Android 5.0 Lollipop to Google Play Edition devices next week. Technically, that should include the HTC One (M7) as well as the HTC One (M8). Keep in mind these aren’t the carrier versions of either phone, however, and are the pure-Android versions sold through Google Play.
We’ll keep you in the know as the rollout progresses.
