Super Smash Bros. for Wii U TV Ad Highlights 8 Player Multiplayer

Nintendo’s released a brand new TV ad that’s meant to show off how much fun gamers can have if eight of them get together for some local multiplayer Super Smash Bros. on the Wii U. Now, they’ll need a massive living room to do it, but it looks fun.

How, exactly, are you going to get to eight controllers? There are several configurations, but I’d personally prefer to roll with one GameCube multitap for four controllers and four Wii U Pro Controllers. If that’s not an option, you can use the system’s GamePad, Wii Remotes and even the Nintendo 3DS if you have a copy of Super Smash Bros. for it.

That last one should be pretty awesome.

I’m looking forward to when my friends have amiibo of their own. We could put all the amiibo on one team as the four of us try to tangle with them. I’ve got my single amiibo up to level 25 already (out of 50), and I’ll admit that fighting him alone is already consistently challenging.

Super Smash Bros. will hit the Wii U on Nov. 21. We’ll have more on the game as it comes.
