Last week a pair of wireless Beats Solo2 headphones passed through the FCC, and today those new headphones are official. Beats unveiled the Solo2 Wireless on Wednesday, though the rumored Apple-branded model is nowhere to be seen.
“We’re taking the most popular headphone in the world and adding wireless Bluetooth functionality to it,” said Beats President Luke Wood. “The Solo2 is already a world-class headphone much lauded for its acoustics, and now it joins our growing family of successful wireless products.”
Beats Solo2 Wireless features a 12-hour rechargeable battery. It also comes with a RemoteTalk cable, so you can plug in and keep listening even if you run out of juice. The new headphones will retail for $299.95 later this month in time for the holiday shopping season. They’ll be be available directly from Apple along with a number of other retailers, and there’s also a Verizon-exclusive red model that will be available at carrier stores and online.
The Apple-owned company also took the opportunity to unveil a handful of new colors for the wired Solo2 headphones. The new Royal Edition lineup includes Stone Grey, Hunter Green, Imperial Violet, Blush Rose and Sapphire Blue options for a more refined look. They cost $199.95 each and offer the same experience you’d expect from the regular Solo2.
