Apple Increasing iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Production As Strong Demand Continues

Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus-1

In an effort to meet demand this holiday season, Apple assembly partner Pegatron has reportedly stepped in to help with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus production. Apple has already sold millions of units since its new devices went on sale in September, and with the devices being made available in many other regions worldwide, there are no signs of slowing down. Pegatron is reportedly focusing on producing the iPhone 6 Plus after seeing particularly strong demand.

According to Nikkei, Foxconn has been unable to keep up with demand, so Apple has tapped Pegatron to pick up the slack as we head into the all-important holiday period. It’s unclear how many units Pegatron will output each day/week, but the supplier has consistently benefited from strong iPhone sales, with its communications products division seeing a 10-percent increase in revenue year-over-year thanks in part to Apple.

Apple has used Pegatron as a supplementary assembly partner for a while now, using the supplier for both iPhone and iPad models; Pegatron played a major role in iPhone 5c production last year when the plastic device was introduced alongside the iPhone 5s.

Now that we’re more than a month removed from the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus’s launch, units should be a little easier to come by. Hopefully with the help of Pegatron you shouldn’t have any issue securing Apple’s new device in time for a happy Christmas morning.
