This is Lollipop on the Moto X and it Looks Awesome

Motorola is already rolling out its Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade for the 2014 Moto X, but only to a select few users with a “Pure Edition” device. If you’re not lucky enough to be one of them, the hands-on video below will give you an early glimpse at just how awesome the update’s going to be.

The nine-minute clip, courtesy of Droid-Life, showcases the official Lollipop update — system version 22.11.5 — that was seeded by Motorola last week to users in its feedback network. “It’s incredibly speedy, responsive, and beautiful,” Droid-Life says.

In addition to its many visual improvements, the video demonstrates the new lock screen, quick settings panel, and enhanced notifications; features like Ambient Display and Adaptive Display; and the changes to apps like Settings and Google Now.

If you have a 2014 Moto X Pure Edition, you can download this ROM and flash it yourself right now. It’s not yet ready for prime time, though, so you may run into a few bugs and other issues, but it is very stable. If you don’t have a Pure Edition device, you’ll have to wait — attempting to flash this firmware could do irreparable damage to unsupported handsets.

Fortunately for its users, Motorola is getting pretty quick at rolling out the latest Android software, so the rest of us shouldn’t have to wait too long to get ours hands on it.
