During the recent Nintendo Direct presentation, President Satoru Iwata confirmed that the highly anticipated Xenoblade Chronicles X is still being targeted for a release in 2015 in both North America and Europe.
Many have wondered about the release window of the game seeing that it is easily the largest and most expansive released for Wii U. It is often considered to be one of the two major “mature” games that Nintendo is using to promote the console to gamers interested in other franchises beyond its own classic line-up, the other of course being Bayonetta 2.
And if Xenoblade Chronicles X turns out half as impressive as that game, then this wait will have been worth it.
Iwata also dove a little bit into the game’s controls, claiming that the Wii U Gamepad could be used as a map to help navigate the massive world better and be used to research the characters’ surroundings. Those who have played the first game will know very well how important a map feature is, and to have it streamlined into the palms of your hands is easily the biggest improvement over that game.
Xenoblade Chronicles X will be released for the Wii U sometime in 2015.
