New Wireless Beats Solo2 Headphones Outed In FCC Documents

by Brandon Russell | November 7, 2014November 7, 2014 3:00 pm PST

A new FCC filing spotted by 9to5Mac suggests an Apple-branded pair of Beats Solo2 headphones are on the way. The new ear cans will essentially be the same pair we saw released earlier this year, though they’ll support Bluetooth Low-Energy connectivity, ditching the need for pesky wires.

While there are no pictures of the new Bluetooth Solo2s just yet, the documents suggest they will indeed feature Apple’s famous logo; how prominently Apple’s brand will feature over the famous Beats “B” is unclear. My guess is Apple will find a way to make both work together, rather than completely replacing one or the other. Beats is a brand that’s powerful in and of itself, so there’s really no point of ditching it now.

The FCC documents don’t reveal pricing or a release date, but a launch is likely imminent. You can currently pick up the Solo2 in array of colors straight from the Apple store for $199. When we reviewed the Solo 2 headphones earlier this year, we came away really impressed with the audio quality and comfort. You can check that out here.
