Android Wear fans in the U.K. can now pick up LG’s stunning new G Watch R. The device isn’t yet available from Google Play, but Amazon.co.uk is already offering it with next-day Prime shipping for £225 (approx. $356).
That’s £70 (approx. $110) more than the original LG G Watch, but you’re getting a much more attractive device made from more premium materials — in addition to some extra features. The G Watch R is round, made out of stainless steel, and it comes with a leather strap as standard.
It’s very much LG’s answer to the very well-received Moto 360, and the Taiwanese company likes to point out that’s it’s the “world’s first full circle” screen — without the small black bezel the Moto 360 has at the bottom of its display.
In addition to that P-OLED screen, the G Watch R is water-resistant, has a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 4GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM, and a 410mAh battery. It also has a built-in heart rate monitor, unlike the original G Watch.
While LG’s first Android Wear device was built to be a “no-nonsense, pure Android Wear device,” the G Watch R was designed “with a more aesthetic eye,” according to LG President and CEO, Dr. Jong-Seek Park.
