How to Get the Latest Gmail 5.0, Maps and Google Calendar on Android Right Now

Google recently released Gmail 5.0, a brand new Google Maps, and a revamped Google Calendar. All three are amazing new pieces of software that are rolling out to Android devices right now. But, if you’re like me, you might have noticed that the apps haven’t hit every single device yet. So, being the impatient person I am, I went seeking for the standalone APK files that allow me to upgrade manually, without having to wait for the updates to hit the Google Play Store. Thankfully, Android Police has already posted APKs for all three. We already provided the link to the Gmail 5.0 release, but we’ll include all three brand new apps here.

I’ve provided the links below and, once you download the files, simply open them and, when your phone asks if you’re willing to install files from untrusted sources, click ‘yes.’ This isn’t always wise, it’s one way to open yourself up to malware, though I’ve downloaded all three apps, which are signed by Google, and they’re good to go. Once installed, you’ll see Google’s brand new Gmail app, which has a fresh coat of paint and now supports all e-mail services. You’ll also see Google’s amazing new Calendar redesign, which offers a much more visually pleasing experience and is smarter than ever, pulling in information from Gmail and automatically populating things like flights and appointments as necessary. Finally, you’ll find Google’s redesigned Google Maps app with new support for OpenTable, Uber, improved visuals for public transit and more.

Sure, you can be patient and wait for the updates to hit the Google Play Store for your device, but these are three great apps that I personally couldn’t wait to fire up. Hit the source for a link to Android Police‘s APK files now.
