Destiny is the biggest original game of the year, but what are the chances of this next-gen Grand Theft Auto V release dethroning it? 48 new screenshots show off the new build, and the differences between it and last year’s release are stunning!
Granted, getting what essentially boils down to an HD remaster of a previous generation game to sell 35 million copies is a tall order, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility that it could at least top Bungie’s latest hit. Plenty of people were holding off on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version for this inevitable release, and the level of quality between the two games is more than enough to make existing fans want to double dip.
To top Destiny, this new version of Grand Theft Auto V is going to have to hit seven digit sales figures. The next-gen user base hovers somewhere around the mid-10 millions, meaning that it will have to have an astronomical attachment rate. Not going to happen in 2014, I think. Destiny clearly has the advantage of the huge PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 user base supplementing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases, but the holidays are just about here, and anything is possible.
Grand Theft Auto V will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Nov. 21. A PC version will follow shortly after on Jan. 27.
