Disney Originals Join in on the Disney Infinity 2.0 Fun

The second wave of Disney Infinity 2.0 figures have arrived, and it’s all about Disney proper.

While Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes has been out for some time now, there were no new figures for the more traditional Disney fans in the crowd. All of that changed today, however, as Disney is releasing a mixture of characters from different eras of its history. Clearly it is focusing on the more recent history, as well as promoting the upcoming Big Hero 6 with the release of Hiro and Baymax.

There aren’t any playsets this time around and all of these figures will be usable strictly in the Toy Box mode of Disney Infinity 2.0. They also continue to come with the cards that all figures have before that will allow you to use them in the PC and iPad versions of the game.

Also releasing today is a new starter kit, but you do not need to purchase this if you already picked up the Marvel Super Heroes set.  The only difference is that it comes with Merida from Brave and Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, but both those figures are available for individual purchase if you want to pick them up. The new starter set also comes with two Toy Box games discs themed to the characters included:

Stitch’s Tropical Rescue – Galactic Federation robots are on a duck-snatching spree, and only you and Pleakley can save the little quackers.

Brave Forest Siege – Dodge the witch’s enchanted wooden carvings and help Merida find her mischievous brothers in the forest.

Also releasing today are 40 more Power Discs that you can use in various sets and in the Toy Box. They will once again come in packs of two with a suggested retail price of $4.99 per pack.

These eight new figures mark the first Disney Originals for Disney Infinity 2.0. Disney Interactive promises that more are on the way in 2015, but no word yet on who we may see yet.

If you have any Disney Infinity lovers on your gift giving list this season, you are most certainly not going to be lacking for options in what to buy for them.
