The Stitcher Radio app for iOS, which lets users listen to their favorite radio shows and podcasts on demand, is finally CarPlay compatible thanks to a new update that’s available to download now from the App Store.
Stitcher was announced as one of the first CarPlay partners when Apple unveiled the platform back in March, but it’s taken eight months for its iOS app to become compatible. The update comes just days after Stitcher was acquired by music streaming service Deezer.
With CarPlay compatibility, it’s easier than ever to access your podcasts and radio shows on the road. You no longer have to contend with the tiny controls on your iPhone while you’re behind the wheel (which you shouldn’t do), thanks to a dedicated user interface that’s larger, easier, and safer to use at a glance.
Stitcher joins rivals like iHeartRadio, Rdio, and Spotify in providing CarPlay support for those who have compatible in-car entertainment systems. In addition, the new release promises stability improvements and bug fixes — including a fix for a frustrating issue that caused shows to resume from incorrect positions after being paused.
If you haven’t already downloaded the update, you’ll find it in the App Store now.
