You Can Already Download Gmail 5.0 for Android

The official release of Gmail 5.0 is expected to make its official debut in the Google Play store pretty soon. But if you absolutely can’t wait for the search giant to push the update out, Android Police has the production-signed Gmail 5.0 APK for you to try out. The update, if you remember, essentially turns Gmail into your all-in-one solution with support for Exchange, Outlook and Yahoo accounts.

Of course, the update also comes with a pretty heavy dose of Material Design, along with a similar thread email system that was introduced with Inbox. Android Police has a few screenshots of the new app’s interface (above), showing off the setup process and what to expect when you start sorting through your inbox. If you’re eager to unite your many accounts, this is looking like the best way to do so on Android.

While we wait for the official update to hit, I suppose you can jump the gun and install it yourself. Google has been pretty busy trying to fix how people use email, introducing a different take on the age-old system with Inbox. But if all you’re looking for is a little Exchange love, Google’s answer is waiting for you.
