Nexus 6 Pre-Orders Go Live, But Sell Out Immediately

by Jacob Kleinman | October 29, 2014October 29, 2014 12:30 pm PDT

Nexus 6 pre-orders are finally live after Google officially unveiled the stock Android smartphone earlier this month. Unfortunately it looks like the device sold out in mere minutes (maybe even seconds), and for now all models and variants are listed as out of stock on Google Play.

A few lucky people somehow managed to register their Nexus 6 orders. Meanwhile, we’re seeing others complain they got the device into their cart, but that it vanished before they could confirm the order.

The baseline 32GB Nexus 6 costs $649 while the 64GB option brings the price up to $699. Both options come in either dark blue or white. The device should also be available from the major U.S. carriers at a subsidized price, though Google is offering the new phone unlocked.

In case you need a quick refresh, here’s what the Nexus 6 has to offer: it comes equipped with a massive 5.96-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 805 processor, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, a 3220mAh battery with Turbo Charging and 3GB of RAM. It’s also set to be the first phone running Android 5.0 Lollipop, which adds a ton of new features and a fresh coat of paint with Material Design.

Hopefully Google will re-open sales for the Nexus 6 in the near future, and we’re also counting on carriers to sell the phone directly. For now we’ll be watching the Play Store closely for any updates, so check back soon in case pre-orders return.
