Samsung Galaxy A5 Price and Specs Leak Out

Rumor has it the Galaxy A5 could launch as soon as next month, and today we’re learning a bit more about the mid-range metal smartphone. Today’s leak comes out of Kazakhstan, where the Galaxy A5 was allegedly advertised in an electronics catalog alongside the current crop of mid-range Samsung phones.

It’s tough to say if these images are legitimate, though they line up pretty well with previous leaks. The catalog lists the Galaxy A5 as sporting a 5-inch 720p AMOLED display, a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz (probably the Snapdragon 400) and a 13-megapixel rear camera. Earlier reports also suggest the device could pack a 2300mAh battery, 16GB of storage, dual SIM slots, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and Android 4.4 out of the box.

Today’s leak also offers a potential price for the Galaxy A5, which is listed at 99,990 KZT in Kazakhstan (roughly $550). That’s a bit more than we were hoping for the mid-range phone, but it’s not unreasonable. Samsung is also expected to release a cheaper 4.7-inch Galaxy A3 and a more expensive 5.5-inch Galaxy A7.

There’s still no official word on any of these Galaxy A handsets, though considering how many times they’ve leaked out it’s likely only a matter of time before Samsung makes an official announcement. We actually kind of liked the original Galaxy Alpha, so we’re curious to see what comes next. Hopefully Samsung won’t keep us waiting much longer.
