The first batch of two confirmed packs of DLC for Mario Kart 8 will include eight courses spread over two cups. We’ve already learned about Yoshi Circuit, a remake of the Double Dash favorite. Today, though, we have news of Excitebike Arena.
Yep, the NES classic Excitebike now has its own course in Mario Kart. It comes complete with crazy jumps, hills, boosts, mudpits and, if the music in the trailer is any indication, its own retro-esque soundtrack. The crazy bit? The locations of the ramps and speed boosts change every time you race the course.
Sign me up for all of that.
You can nab both DLC packs together or separately. The first includes this Excitebike Arena course, along with seven others, three new characters and four unique karts. The second includes the same amount of content we assume. Each pack separately sells for $7.99. You can get them bundled together for $11.99, and that will immediately unlock multicolored Yoshis and Shy Guys for play today.
The first pack will launch in November, the second is slated for next spring. We’ll have more on both and Mario Kart 8 in general as it comes.
