SimCity BuildIt Hits iOS and Android in New Zealand, Canada

SimCity BuildIt

EA has begun the slow and soft process of launching SimCity BuildIt on specific marketplaces for mobile platforms. The title is now available for Android in Canada and iOS in New Zealand.

Those territories will obviously continue to slowly grow, but this is the first step in EA’s slower process of launching, testing and receiving feedback.

Initial word has been relatively positive. Despite the fact that this is a free-to-play affair and a real downturn for a once storied and beloved franchise, gamers have indicated that initial play is fun and satisfying.

I’m not sure where I stand on this. On the one hand, I so tremendously love anything SimCity that I’m willing to give this a shot. I’m not expecting much from a mobile free-to-play affair, but if the polish and building process is rewarding, this might actually be enjoyable.

Maybe. I’m not sure.

Have any of our Canadian or Kiwi readers given SimCity BuildIt a shot? Is it any good, or should I just give up all hope now and move on?
