Nexus 9 vs. NVIDIA Shield Tablet Spec Shootout

by Sean P. Aune | October 27, 2014October 27, 2014 12:30 pm PDT

The Nexus 9 is due to arrive to users next week as the first device sporting Android 5.0 Lollipop. While it has one first to its name, it’s the second tablet to come at us with the powerful NVIDIA K1 processor. This of course leads us to wonder how these two tablets compare to one another.

Normally when we do spec shootouts there is a fairly clear winner when you look at the two of them side-by-side. However, this time, it is a constant back and forth between the two. One gives you expandable storage, but the other gives you a much larger battery. One has a better rear camera, but the other has a higher quality front camera.

And if you’re thinking, “but the Nexus 9 has Lollipop,” NVIDIA promised it would be coming to the Shield once it was released.

There is no clear winner between these two, that’s for sure. Take a look and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
