Alpine Unveils New $800 CarPlay System

Alpine on Monday introduced the latest Apple CarPlay-enabled dashboard system. The new in-dash received is dubbed the iLX-007 and will start shipping to Alpine’s retail partners today.

The iLX-007 syncs up with an iPhone 5 or newer device using a Lightning port. It features a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display and allows you to access most of the functions on your phone in a hands-free environment. As we’ve already seen from other CarPlay devices, that means you can ask Siri to play music, provide voice-guided directions and more.

Alpine’s product takes things a step further with added support for Alpine audio products. Using its TuneIt 2.0 application, users can adjust the equalizer, crossover points, access preset EQ settings and more, all through the in-dash iLX-007 system. The system also supports three 2V preouts, Alpine said, MediaXpander tech for “improved playback of compressed media,” and support for rearview cameras, though one is not included in the iLX-007 package.

The Alpine iLX-007 is ships for $800 and is available now.
