PlayStation 4 Update Masamune - 2

It looks like, in addition to the standard #.## format for system updates on the PlayStation 4, Sony will start code naming its firmware releases. That starts with version 2.00 on the PS4, and it’s called Masamune.

That tweet revealed the name of the update and its Oct. 28 release date. It also indicated that gamers will see Share Play and a USB music player on their console. The “and more” includes stuff like dashboard themes, YouTube support, a redesigned content area, enhanced voice commands and the “add to library” function for instantly bringing a PS Plus game to a user’s collection without actually downloading it from the PlayStation Store.

Why is that “add to library” thing cool? It’s a way to conserve hard drive space while still nabbing PS Plus Instant Game Collection titles before they go away. Good deal.

This is a huge update for the PlayStation 4, and I’ll be looking forward to diving in and fooling around with the system’s new themes once it’s available. I don’t know what it is about custom console themes. I like them for some reason.
